The Pagan Chronicles

Posted on September 27th, 2007 in Great Reads, New Books by Mrs Brennan

Historical fiction is a great way to find out about life in the past. The Pagan Chronicles bring to life the crusades of the 12th Century. Set in Jerusalem they tell the story of Pagan, an orphan, who has been taken from the streets to work for Lord Roland, a Templar knight. There are five books in the series: Pagan’s Crusade, Pagan in Exile, Pagan’s Vows, Pagan’s Scribe and Pagan’s Daughter.

Holiday Reading

Posted on July 2nd, 2007 in Great Reads by Mrs Brennan

I’ve already had someone let me know what they are reading these holidays. Thank you Tamsyn from 1RM. As the last post about holiday reading was a long time ago, I thought I’d add another post today so you can easily find all your comments.
Currently I am reading the Lemony Snicket series of Unfortunate Events. I’m really enjoying them. I’m trying to guess what happens at the end but I won’t tell you what I think! The Beaudelaire children Violet, Klaus and Sunny were orphaned when their parents died in a tragice fire. They get sent to live with various relatives with unfortunate consequences. Many of my questions have still been left unanswered – what is the significance of the eye and just who is Lemony Snicket?
What are you reading these holidays?

Some computer fun during the holidays

Posted on July 2nd, 2007 in Computers by Mrs Brennan

I promised year 6 I would link two great programs to this blog. Last week 6F looked at Google Sketchup and 6J trialled Pivot Animator. Both these programs would be great for some holiday fun. Click on the links and you can download them to your computer. Don’t forget to ask your parents permission before you download a program. You might save your best work and email it to me and we can showcase it at school next term.
